Edward Boardman/Julia Riley - MA Cambridge & Middleboro/Lakeville
Here is what I have regards to my above-referenced ancestors and their children: (most basic info is from the 1880 census)
Edward Boardman b: 1830 New Hampshire
(possible that Boardman name may have originally been Bouvier?)
married
Julia Riley (sp?) b: 1842 Ireland (possibly county cork)
children (all born in Massachusetts):
1. George - b: 1861
2. John - b: 1862
3. Nellie - b: 1868 d: 1962
4. John - b: 1870
5. Levi - b: 1871
6. Charles - b: 1874
On the 1880 census they lived North Cambridge, MA. Possibly ran a boarding house since the 1880 lists about 9 "other" people living in Edward Boardman's household. He was a house painter, Julia "kept house".
Believed the family moved to Middleboro/Lakeville, MA about 1886 when daughter, Nellie, was 18. Nellie married John Morrison, possibly from South Boston, MA. I have a memory of my gr grandmother, John & Nellie's eldest child, Mary (Mae) tellling me that her father used to take her to South Boston to visit his family (her grandparents?).
About 20+ years ago my gr gr aunt gave me her mother's (Nellie's) funeral record book. A Mr. & Mrs. Joseph F. Riley signed the book (possibly a maternal relative?). Also 2 Boardman's (possibly paternal relatives?) signed. I have had trouble reading their handwriting, but I now think it reads George H. Boardman and Flouna or Florna Boardman - possibly Florina though there is no dot over letter which could be an i.
Looking for any relatives and more info. Thanks.
