Thank you for posting the information on the Nicholas Vaughn Board family.John Sterett Board, son of Phillip was indeed named after Phillip's brother except his name was Sterrett B. Board. He married Tennesse A. Ellis, a sister of Sarah Almira Ellis in Harrison County 28 Aug. 1856.Sterrett enlisted in Morgan's Cavalry Confederate, of course) and died in hospital at Tyler, TX. in April of 1864, leaving his wife and three children. They are found next door to Christopher and Caroline Ellis on the 1870 census. The older daughter, called Fannie, married W.P. Burnett in Van Zandt Co. 19 Dec. 1876, bore two children - Sterrett and Alpha D. - and died as the result of another pregnancy 9 Aug. 1880. She is buried in Rocky Point Cemetery in Van Zandt County.
I wonder if anyone has any information as to the fate of Tennnesse Ann Ellis Board.Or, the burial place of Sterrett B. Board.
These people are my children's ancestors.
