That's part of our problem. From the 1850 census her dob is 1838, from the 1880 census her dob is 1842. Her oldest daughter, Alice Atlanta, listed her dob as 2/28/1842. Her father had been previously married to a Polly Brown on 11/7/1839. So the question becomes, if she was born in 1838, is this 1. Laban's child by another women 2. Laban and Polly's child or3. Polly's child by a different man? If her dob is 1842 she is most likely Laban and Sarah's daughter. What this means is we don't really have any idea who her parents really are. That is why we are trying to research both mothers, but for Polly Brown we only have a name and wedding date, nothing else.
