Hello, this is my family!
In 1801 Willaim Boag & Margaret Dewar had a son William on Margarets death in 1851 aged 78 her husband was recorded as William Boag.
He was a Carter and they only had 1 child. This son William is probably the father of my Great Great Grandfather also called William Boag who was born in 1828 at Braco a few miles from Dunning.
The William Boag born in 1801 married Jane (Jean) Bryce on the 15th of April 1827.
William & Jane lived in Dunning.
My William emigrated to NZ in the late 1800's and became a very successful farmer, owning a large portion of what is now currently Christchurch City.
His farm was called Burnside, a suburb in Christchurch still retains this name.
The name Dewar was given to several of the children born in Christchurch.
The name Dewar in Perthshire is associated with the company producing fine Whiskey.

If you need to know more please get in touch as all our geneology has been done & there is a book available.

Charisa.
