I dont know if thisis your Blundell or not. I have in my notes: Northumberland County, Virginia Parish Records "Birth of Blendel Curtice, son of George and Eliz. on Oct. 20, 1744" 1769 - Blundell Curtis - election St. David's Parish, Craven County, South Carolina (lower poll) - 7th and 8th March, 1769. This from Gregs History of Marlboro, SC and Saint David's Parish, SC, Minutes of the Vestry (1768-1832). The lower poll included the settlement of the Welch near Long Bluff in the present day (1999) Darlington County, Society Hill area. It also included Sandy Bluff which was in Williamsburg County. Sandy Bluff Church has been extinct for many years and was located on the southeastern side of Lynches Creek opposite the Effingham Saw Mill. 1780 - Blundell Curtis - Land Grant #4192, March 29, 1780, Anson County, NC (Mrs Hazel Tice, clerk) 1784 - Blundell Curtis - sold land on Pee Dee, May, 1784, to Richard Wortham - Deed Book 4, page 300, Anson County, NC records. 1785 - Blundell Curtis and John Curtis on Wilkes County, Georgia tax list. 1792 - Blundell Curtis Wilkes County, Georgia one poll. 1795 - Blundell Curtis - taxpayer in Hancock County, Georgia (Genealogical Quarterly - "They Were Here") 1796 - Elizabeth Curtis (daughter of Blundell Curtis) married Michael Horn in Warren County Georgia, August 26, 1796. 1806 - Blundell Curtis, William Curtis and Jincey (Jane??) Curtis in Georgia Land Lottery in Hancock County, Georgia. 1814 - Blundell Curtis - deed record Clarke County AL, page 16 - sells two tracts of land in Washington and Hancock Counties, GA. This was apparantly land inherited from Michael Horn by Elizabeth Curtis. 1815 - Blundell Curtis registers his cattle brand in Clarke County. Marks and Brands Book, Number 53. 1816 - Blundell Curtis listed in the 1816 Territorial Census of Clarke County, Mississippi Territory as head of household: 3M 21+ 1F 21+ 1F -21 1817 - Blundell Curtis - among petitioners to Congress by inhabitants of Clarke, Monroe, Washington, Mobile, and Baldwin Counties in the Alabama Territory, October, 1817: Signers were Jno. D. Curtis, Blundel Curtis, Benjamin Curtis, Blinder (sic) Bush Curtis, and Wm. Curtis. 1818/1819 Curtis, Blundell died. It is presumed that Blundell died during this period at the age of 74 or 75 as he no longer appears in any Clarke County records. He resided near the Old Courthouse Cemetery at Fort Landrum and it is possible that he is buried there. There is an historic marker placed there by the Clarke County Historical Society, but no remaining grame markers other than field stones and limestone rocks. (I suspect the word grame is supposed to be grave.) I have him as the son of George and Elizabeth, with siblings Margaret, Sarah and Henry. Elizabeth certainly might have been a Blundell? Or Blundell may have been a grandmother's last name: I also have an Ann Blundell b 1684 Northumberland Co, VA who md a Curtis, FNU, and her sister Patience b Jan 1688/89 who married a George Curtis. The time frame would be about right for either of these two gals to have a son George Curtis, who md Elizabeth and had son Blundell. Back then there were a lot of marriages within the same families. And there were quite a few Blundell families in Northumberland Co. You may already have all of this, but if not, I hope it helps you some. Please let me know if you discover anything on this family. I realize that a lot of time has passed since you posted your query. Notify Administrator about this message?
