John W. Blumenshine
Farmer
Cruger Township, IL
Born: May 16, 1833 in Tazewell County, IL
Son of William and Elizabeth Blumenshine of Germany - whom were among the first settlers of Tazewell County.
They emigrated to Tazewell County and settled there in 1831.
His father, William Blumenshine died in 1872.
Mr. Blumenshine remained on his father's farm until he was 24 years old.
He farmed and in the winter months he attended district schools.
He moved to Woodford County, IL and settled on 200 acres of land.
John. W. Blumenshine married twice.
1) Miss Annie Rhoebeck of Germany. She died in 1855.
2) Mrs. Sarah Lohr.
Sarah Lohr was born August 27, 1846 in PA.
They married in 1876.

There were seven children (names not mentioned).

He was a Republican and a member of the Evangelical Church.
