The original spelling is Blumenschein. It was changed when they came here to the English spelling, Blumenshine, which sounds the same in English. However Blumenshine in German is pronounced Bloomen-sheenah. Some families kept the original German, others changed, even the German first names were changed. My ancestor was born Georg Wilhelm, but here went by William. I cannot find a connection between the different Blumenshine families in Tazewell. Hope this helps.
