Blumenshine Family Genealogy Forum

I think Sebastian may be my great-great grandfather. My grandfather's name was Louie Aley Blumenshine, born 5/8/1915, died 10/3/93 (of Clearwater, KS). His father's name was Albert George Blumenshine (of Clearwater, KS). Albert had many siblings, but the only names I can recall are a brother named Aley and a sister named Lottie (Clearwater, KS). Albert and Lottie are buried in the Clearwater Cemetary along with all of Albert's children (my great-aunts and uncles). I do not know if Sebastian is buried there (or even if he died in Clearwater.) I do know that once, many years ago, the town of Clearwater, Kansas published a small book on some of the founding fathers and their descendents. Sebastian Blumenshine was listed, as well as Albert and Lottie (along with all of their siblings); Louie (and all of his siblings); and so-on. I am trying to find a copy of this book as I believe it will contain much of the information you are looking for. I will let you what I find. On an additional note, my grandfather told me that the Blumenshine's came to KS from Illinois. While in Kansas, some cousin's of his decided to take their chances down south and actually lined up on the border and participated in the Oklahoma land rush, homesteading near (if I remember correctly) Moore, Oklahoma. It is a tragedy that I did not record all of the wonderful history my grandfather told me but in his memory I am trying to retrace as much of it as possible.
