There was no pension file, but I did send for his military file. That is how I found out he changed his name from Bluhm to Nolan, and that he had two dependents at the time of discharge. I had not seen my father since I was 9, and did not know he was dead until I got the military records and a SSN. I started my genealogy "hobby" several years ago when I decided to search for my father. It was pretty disappointing to finally find him, but he was dead. Since my Mom remembers him mentioning a daughter, I would really like to find my missing sister. Thanks for writing Kelly.
