I am currently researching the 41st Regiment of Foot and the men who served with it from 1798 to 1815. All I've had for years was a B. N. Bluett until today (better lucky than good!). This is what I have on B. N. Bluett and would appreciate any additional info.
Assigned as Ensign from Wiltshire Militia. Promoted to Lt. February 8, 1810. Promoted to Captain of the 41st Regiment (without purchase) November 15, 1823 upon promotion of Captain James Lewis Hill.

Listed as a Lt. in the Army List of February 5, 1824 while the 41st was stationed in India. Reduced to half pay while a member of the 69th Regiment May 26, 1825. Transferred to the 2nd West Indian Regiment of Foot September 14, 1826 (69). Became a member of the British Foreign Legion in 1835 as a Captain to serve in Spain. His pension would have been the responsibility of the Spanish Government.
