Can't say for sure who Washington's parents were, but both are buried at Friendship Cemetery in Wilcox Co., AL. Lorena Powell's father Henry bought land in neighboring Butler Co., AL in 1821, and lived there until he died in 1853. A book on the Powell family gives the date of 7 Jan 1830 for Lorena and Washington but doesn't give a location. I descend from Lorena's sister Matilda who married Lovard Lee in 1824 in Butler Co., AL. The webmaster for USGenWeb's Butler Co., AL site is Mildred Brown, a descendant of another sister, Mary Elizabeth "Polly" Powell who married Abraham Morrow. She may be able to give you more info.
