I have a document written by Charles R. Willes or Willis, attorney residing in Sangamon county, Illinois in 1800`s. The document was sworn to in Christian County, Illinois. What I can make out of this document is that the late HENRY BLOXAM, who died about August 18, 1844, borrowed money, two hundred and fifty pounds from his sisters and brother who all lived in the vicinity of London in the Kingdom of Great Britain. The sisters and brother are listed as JANE (not sure) BLOXAM, SOPHIA BLOXAM, LOUISA BLOXAM, EMELY or EMILY BLOXAM, and CHARLES J BLOXAM.
Henry or some in family think name was William Henry Bloxam, came to the USA from England about 1825 and married an ANN ELIZABETH HOWATH in New Jersey on Oct 7, 1828. They resided in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where Henry worked at Grigg and Elliott bookstore as a bookkeeper. Later they moved to Illinois. No proof but is said that Howath may be her married name from her first marriage.
I found on Family Search the following:
WILLIAM BLOXAM married ELIZABETH ISHERWOOD on Sept 16, 1788 at Saint Bride Fleet ST., London, London, England.
Are these two the parents of the above named children?
