Salter and Maddox Surname. Did you know that when Calvert settled Maryland, he originally settled a colony in Ferryland Newfoundland with Men from Wales. There was a Maddox in this area in early 1600's "john Madox". Salter was also an early name in Newfoundland. Do you think that Maddox and Salter may have come with George Calvert to settle Maryland?
