Elizabeth Blower b.England d.Portland,NY
My great grandmother was Elizabeth Blower who came from England with her mother, two brothers and two sisters somewhere around 1848.Her brother, James, served with Sherman in the Civil War. He never married and died at the home of his nephew, John Barger, in Jamestown NY. John , another brother, lived in California.Elizabeth married William Barger, had several children, including my grandmother, Minnie Bertha Barger, and after the death of William in 1890 in Portland, NY, she married, a widower named Seymour Rice of Chautauqua County, NY. The two other girls married and moved west. Elizabeth's father apparently died at sea or about the time of the family's migration to America, for her mother remarried to a man named Williams.Together, they produced a son named Arthur Williams who lived in Fayetteville, NY.Know very little about the Blower side of the family, and would appreciate corresponding with anyone that has any knowledge of this family. Please contact:Gordon A.
