Not sure if this will help, but at least it may give you something to check on. I have a James Blount that came to Dale County, Alabama from Washington County Georgia and Decatur County Georgia. James had a son that would have been born around that time, but by 1850 he was gone. James also had a Richard A. Blount that might have been his brother that might have had sons, also. Since William is a definite family name of my Blounts, I would check out James as the possible father to your William. I don't know the proximity of your county in Georgia to Washington and Decatur Counties. Tami
