Hi Janeen- I found your message of interest. I, too, am Caucasian. However.......I recently discovered that my ggg grandfather, Jonathan BLUNT (b 1753 NH) was listed in various Revolutionary War references as "complexion brown", black, and mulatto. He served for six and 1/3 years in the Continental Line as a matross. His rank and length of service could support minority status. Jonathan's uncle Isaac and some of Mary Wilson BLUNT's family did hold slaves in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. (Mary was, I think, Jonathan's mother.) Jonathan's son, Alanson, changed the spelling of the name from BLUNT to BLOUNT. Jonathan's father was Jonathan BLUNT (b 1708 MA, d 1762 NH). His father was William BLUNT (b 1671 MA, d 1738 MA). His father was William BLUNT (b 1642 MA, d 1709 MA) His father was William BLUNT or BLOUNT (b England, went to Barbados, d MA) The Massachusetts BLUNTS lived in Andover. I am very curious about Jonathan's black ancestors. Do you have any leads? Barb Ziek
