Was Blount's Ferry on the Suwannee River near the Georgia border named after John Blount, as well? Blount's Ferry is extinct now but once had a school, store and post office from 1845-1911. Children from the Hopewell Church area went to school there. The old Lake City-Fargo road went past Hopewell to Blount's Ferry and then on to just south of Fargo. US 441 replaced it.
