Page 349A. Original. Date: 27, Nov. 1776. No probate. Eldest son, READING, three negroes and land bought of JACOB BLOUNT...walking cane, gold sleeve button and silver shoe buckles. Son: JOSEPH, land in the Fork being part bought of Thomas Richards, three negroes, smith's tools (land first mentioned "neck commonly called "the Great Neck from Sandy Hook..." Son: NATHANIEL, land bought of CHURCHILL CALDOM BLOUNT, three negroes, my large bible, black walnut fineered desk and small gun. Son: JESSE, land belonging to this my manor plantation whereon my brother JAMES BLOUNT formerly lived... Brown's branch; three negroes; 1/2 of my land in the fork; large case of bottles, one bed and furniture, and my dutch gun. Son: BRYAN, my manor plantation whereon I now dwell... remaining part of land between Reading & Jesse; 1/2 of land in fork; three negroes; my still and worm; my Bofatt; one bed and furniture, and my using gun. My first grandson, EDWARD BLOUNT, negro girl named SILVAE. When my second grandson, READING BLOUNT, arrives to age 21; then the increase of said negro girl, if any, to be equally divided between my two grandsons, EDWARD AND READING. Son: NATHANIEL: 1/5 part of the Mills on Chocowinity Creek. Son: Bryan, 1/5 part of the Mills on Chocowinity Creek. Three acres (from land to son Reading) adjoining the mill to be given to the owners of said mill. Five sons to et common use of the Cypress Swamp. If any of them should remove far from said Lightwood land and Cypress Swamp, still they may not sell their right only to one another. Executors: Sons, READING BLOUNT, JOSEPH BLOUNT, NATHANIEL BLOUNT, JESSE BLOUNT, AND BRYAN BLOUNT. Signed: Witnesses: JOSEPH WORSLEY, LEWIS BLOUNT, AND THOMAS PHILIPPS.
