Blount was a cousin of the Duchess of Northumberland and Northumberland's comptroller in 1553. He was in Leicester's service by October 1556, and from then until his death Leicester's principal administrative officer. He was probably the steward of Kenilworth between 1563 and 1568. Blount, (Sir) Edward: (d.1630) of Kidderminster, Worcs., M.P. Thomas Blount's heir and elder brother of Christopher. Funeral (bannerol-bearer). By 1587 he was steward of Cleobury Mortimer (Salop.) and leased the iron works there. He may have served in the Netherlands in 1586. Blount, (Sir) Christopher: (ex.1601), M.P., Thomas Blount's younger son. Blount was Leicester's master of horse by 1584, lieutenant of his company of horse in the Netherlands in 1586-88, and possibly the most prominent catholic in his household. He married the Countess of Leicester in 1589 and played a central role in the Essex's Revolt. Blount, George: Livery 1559 (gentleman), livery 1567. He was probably the only son of Sir George Blount of Kinlet, who predeceased his father. There are mentions within the book of other Blounts: 1. a Mr.Blount, whose child was christened in Windsor 1584. 2.
