Hello Hazel,
It's been a few years since the previous posting, but I hope you might be able to help me with this Blount family. You noted in your posting that you had a copy of Granberry Blount's will and that it lists all of his children. One of those children was James "Jesse" Mercer Blount who married Sophia Caudle - as you noted in your post. I was wondering if Granberry might have had another son named James M. Blount, or "Jesse" Blount. There is a James M. Blount on the 1850 census in Chickasaw Co., MS and in 1860 in Calhoun Co. He was married to "Cassilvania." I have a gut feeling that the "M" in the middle name is for "Miller" in honor of his mother. Additionally, this James M. Blount was also known as Jesse and he named one of his sons James Miller Blount. It just seems to add up, but I lack the proof!
Also, do you have a date of death for Sarah (Miller) Blount. The last time I can find her is in 1860 when she was living with her son George Granberry Blount.
