i found this in a historical romance and the names being actual people also, i submit it for what it's worth: THIS HEART OF MINE, by and (c)1985 by Beatrice Small, published by Ballantine Books, page 166-168. "Elizabeth Tudor stiffened. "Say on, my lord for your procrastinating will make it no easier." "I have come to you from my ((Robert Devereux's, Earl of Essex's)) mother at Cornbury. She wishes yo to know that her husband, my stepfather Lord ((Robert)) Dudley ((Earl of Leicester)), departed this life on September fourth." ..."When Leicester's widow, Lettice Knollys, quickly remarried Sir Christopher Blount, the queen sued the Dudley estate for all of the thousands of pounds he owed the crown. She would have forgeiven the debt but for her cousin Lettice's lack of respect for Leicester's memory. Now she would rather impoverish Lettice than see the money go to the Blounts."
