I have Blount's from Robeson county in my tree as well. So far I have not got any concrete verification on them. I have John b. abt. 1720 m. Elizabeth (???) sons Jacobb. abt 1739 and Phillip b. abt 1740.
Phillip m. Margaret Shanks (I think)They had a son James who could have been born around the same time as the James you had on the list.

If any of this sounds interesting to you or if you have any info. that might fit, let me know.
