James and John Blount are on tax list for 1763, Bladen Co, NC. James Blount bought land in 1769, and he and wife Sarah sold that land in 1770. The name James Blount appears on other realty documents until 1789. Other Blounts in county were: John d. 1790, Jacob 1765-1845 and wife Winnifred 1770-1842, Phillip d. 1801, and Thomas. Robeson was formed from Bladen County.
