Kyle;

I came across your message and was surprised that someone is working on the same thing. I'm looking for information on a Lewis Blount who is shown on the 1850 Nassau Co. Fla. Census in, I think, 1850. I think I have followed this same man from Beaufort SC where he shows up on the census there. Incidentally, there is a Lewis Blount (Blunt) in the 1700's in Beaufort NC (what a coincidence) I'm am trying to find some proof that a daughter of Lewis or one of the of the other several Blount's in Beaufort, SC married my ancestor David Stokes. The Blount's and particularly Lewis are show living near David in the Beaufort census. David's son Henry migrated to Ga. and Nassau Co. Fla. and his son was named Lewis A. Stokes. I am thinking that Lewis A. was named for Lewis Blount. Also, Henry is shown paying taxes for an elderly Mrs. Blount in the 1840's or so. I feel that these families are related, but can't find anyting concrete. Lewis may also be the one you are looking for since he came from Beaufort to Nassau Co. We Stokes researchers think that Davids wifes maiden name was Millen Blount or Blunt. What do you think?
