I was born Myrtle Sally Blount in Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Ga on August 27, 1921. My mother is listed Viola Blount and was an unwed teenager. Her family lived in Mullins, South Carolina and I heard they were well to do. They made her give me up for adoption. I was also born with a bad cleft palate which has been surgically repaired. I was never adopted and grew up in a Methodist Orphanage. I would like to know something about my birth family. My mother is probably not living since she would have been around 17 in 1921. I was kept a secret I guess to save the family embarrassment. I am a good, Christian lady, still independent at 77 and still working. I wish the Blount family knew how much they gave up by not knowing me.
