I was born on August 27, 1921 to Viola Blount. Her family was from Mullins, South Carolina. I heard my grandfather was somehow involved in the railroad. Since my mother was young, they sent her to Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Hospital to give birth to me and give me up for adoption. I was never adopted, I grew up in a Methodist Orphanage. I was born with a cleft palate which has been surgically repaired. Viola's family wanted nothing to do with me so they made her give me up. She was not married and still a teen ager. I wish I could find any descendents of my birth family. I am 77 years old, still independent, still working, and always wondering who my family was.
