I'm trying to find some information on how my great-great grandfather is related to Thomas Blossom. Solan Blossom was born in 1838 in New York. His parents were from Vermont. I believe his mother's name was Laura. Solan had 3 sons that I know of; Solan E., Jesse L., and Charles. Jesse L. would be my great grandfather. Solan served as a presidential guard for Abraham Lincoln. After the war he moved to Illinois, Dewitt County where he was a farmer according to the 1880 US census. I would very much appreciate if anyone has any information to share.
