Re: Peter BLOSSER 1751-1835 PA>VA
Thanks for your help. I have purchased a book by Betty Blosser of Oregon and she researched the issue and had asked Mennonite officials about a possible relationship between the two Blosser groups and could find no connection.
It just didn't seem possible that two families with the same name, coming from the same country in Europe, coming to the same area of America about the same time could not be related. Also, I knew that my Blossers had married into the Cagey family at times (many of my ancestors from Fayette County, PA, are buried in the Cagey/Blosser Cemetery near Blosser Hill, Point Marion,PA) and that the Virginia Blossers had married into the Kagey family down there (I have copies of some pages of a book written in the 1800s by the Kagey family). These Kageys were aware of the Fayette County Cageys and mentioned that they had to be related.
Another negative point that I ran into as far as a connection between the VA Blossers and the Fayette County, PA, Blossers, was the fact that the VA Blossers who still live in Mahoning County, OH, state that they are a whole separate family not related to ours. They are still Mennonites and there is even a Blosser Road in that area today.
Thanks for your help. Could you tell me if there are any books, etc., on the VA Blossers that may help me with my research?
