I am researching my husband's and my genealogy also and I think you may have a family connection to my husband's family. My husband's Great Great Grandfather was James Bloomfield who was born Sept 1842 in England. According to the record I have of James his occupation was a painter and his father and mother were also born in England but I have not found the names. There are a lot of James Bloomfields and you also run into Broomfield used also. He married Ann (Annie) She was born inn 1846 in England They had eleven children. Sarah and Emma lived in NJ in 1880. James W (My husband's grandfather, Annie R, Lillie, George H, Charles L and Elizabeth are on a Census of Altoona, PA Blair County in 1880 Do you have information on the Simmons family? After Elizabeth there was Mary E. Emert ?? F (this spelling is hard to make out), and Thomas. Thomas lived in Kentucky. On the Blair County List date June 1 1880 there is an Annie who is 74 years old and was born in England. There may have been a brother of James in England William who also came to America enlisted in the army NY Calvary, was captured a day before the battle of New Market and taken to Andersonville Prison. I would be happy to share more of what I have found and would welcome any information on any of this Bloomfield line. Notify Administrator about this message?
