This Henry Bloomfield was married to Catherine Dummitt, and served in the War of 1812. They had many children (my line is from Henry, Jr.)before Catherine died, then Henry married Elizabeth Hannah Zornes, a widow. They had at least one child, Uriah. The pension papers are interesting because there was apparently a big family fight because Elizabeth, who filed for the pension after Henry's death, thought the name was Broomfield, as Henry had a speach impediment. She thought his children from his first marriage were trying to keep her from collecting. The affidavits are very interesting. If you search the census records in that area you will find Broomfields, and I'm convinced that they are from this branch. If you will e-mail me your address, I will copy and send the papers I have to you. Also, let me know which line you are coming from (Henry's descendants), and I'll see what else I have. You might be interested in checking the discussion below under Skinner Bloomfield/NJ/MN/OH/NY, this is in search of Henry's mother, Polly, whom many of us believe is related to Skinner. My e-mail address is ddalhover@email.com.
