Thanks. Skinner Bloomfield was thought to be the son of Rueben who was in fact, a son of Eliz. Skinner and Ezekiel Bloomfield. I have seen several sources showing the Skinner family socializing or in business matters w/Bloomfields. Elizabeth's father was Wright Skinner. Courtlandt Skinner was also a friend of Joseph Bloomfield. This carry-over of the Skinner name to Skinner Bloomfield is what leads us to believe that Skinner was Rueben's son. It is unknown who raised Rueben since his parents died shortly after Rueben's birth-maybe this connection to Polly is part of the mystery.Rueben appears in NJ tax rolls until abt. 1790 so we think thats when he went to join the KY Bloomfields. It seems that there is a strong connection to Henry and Polly, but no one can pinpoint the exact relationship yet. Skinner married in Fleming Co KY in 1804 and was in the 1810 Greenup Co. census. I would love to know of any tidbits of info you have run across on Skinner! I know other researchers are looking for this also.If Polly is thought to have been born in NY or NJ about 1790, she could have been a sister to Skinner?? I do run across her name but there appear to be 2-3 or more by the same name. Do you have more specifics? Thanks for any help.
