Bloomfield Family Genealogy Forum

Steve, this is a branch of my Bloomfield ancestors who came from England to MA to NJ ca 1632. According to familysearch.com, the children of Lewis and Susanna were John, Andrew, Susan, Elizabeth, Judith, Margaret, Wm., Joseph, Sarah and Lewis, all born in PA. Go to familysearch.com and key in Lewis Bloomfield, and you will see his ancestors, father Thomas, then Andrew, then Thomas, then John, then Thomas again. There is also info on the wives of most of these ancestors. I think you will find that all NJ Bloomfields came from England to MA, then shortly after to Woodbridge,Middlesex Co.NJ then to parts West. Our immigrant Ancestor was Thomas Bloomfield, b. 1617 in Suffolk, Wooodbridge CO. England, married to Mary Withers. He had children born in England who also made the trip to the US. The Bloomfields were prominent people so there is no shortage of info available in several books in local libraries with a genealogy dept. Also look for the NJ will book which gives lots of info. My line goes back to the immigrant Thomas also but goes from another son of his. Many of this family settled first in Pa and KY, then to Ohio, Marion Co, Richland Co. Morrow Co, etc. Some moved to NE Indiana about 1850, Noble Co. They scattered from there to other states over time. This should give you a good start on finding information.
