Are there still lots of Bloomfields and/or descendants in your area? The idea of a reunion might be fun for all of us. There are several descendants in the Noble Co. area, NE Indiana. Mostly, they branch off the Skinner Bloomfield line. Skinner had several sons who came to this area after leaving OH. The NJ Reuben that I have searched for was the son of Ezekiel and Elizabeth Skinner Bloomfield. After him, there were Reubens cropping up in several of the KY Bloomfield families. I am nearly convinced that Polly, Skinner, Henry, etc. came from the NJ Reuben. I suspect that Reuben went to Nova Scotia or Ontario area with the Loyalists, as his grandparents, the Skinners had Loyalist ties. I haven't done research into Canadian records yet but that's about the only thing I haven't scoured in my search for Reuben. There has to be a clue as to why Reuben just can't be found in any of the ususal sources of records, and if he went to Canada, he may have lost his NJ land like many Loyalists. This is all just a theory, but worth checking out, I believe. The cemetery that you mentioned-where is it and was it associated with any certain church? Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks for the reply.
