Joseph Bloomfield, b. 1830-IRE>NB, CAN

My great-grandfather, Joseph Bloomfield, was supposedly orphaned in the cholera epidemics of Halifax in the 1830's along with a brother. The names of his parents and brother are no longer known. Joseph settled in the Tobique area of NB, Carleton and later Victoria Counties, married Elizabeth Margison, and had 10 children. He died in BC. He is believed to be anglo-Irish in origin and emigrated with his parents to Halifax as an infant. His death certificate says that he was born in Ireland, but on the census, he claims to be "English." I am interested in hearing from any other Canadian or Irish Bloomfields. There is, to my knowledge, no connection with Bloomfields in New Jersey or New England.
