Cheryl:

Thank you for bringing this William Bloodworth to my attention.

My great great grandmother was Sarah Bloodworth, born in 1833 in Mississippi, daughter of William Bloodworth, Jr. and Frances Cole. Sarah had numerous brothers and sisters (born in both Mississippi and Tennessee). Following Sarah's marriage to William Martin Carter in 1854 in Tennessee, Sarah and William moved to Faulkner County Arkansas (adjacent to Lonoke County) in 1858. It is likely the William Bloodworth you identified from the 1880 Lonoke County census was the son on one of Sarah's brothers who had also migrated to Arkansas from Mississippi. I'll do some research to see where he ties into my family.

Coincidently, my father, Floyd G. Chivers was born and raised in Lonoke County, the grandson of Sarah and William Carter's daughter, Margaret Carter.
