I, too, would like to know what proof there is that Jane Armistead was the first wife of
Timothy Bloodworth. Looking back at my records I find that the statement that Jane
Bloodworth's maiden name was Armistead came
from a report on the Bloodworth/Bludworth
family by Marie Wise. She in turn attributed
her information to Berneice Warriner, now
deceased. Nowhere else have I seen anything
but Jane given as the name. In Marie Wise's
report she stated that "Timothy Bloodworth
married Jane Armistead, the daughter of a ship's captain, & that she died in l734."
Perhaps someone out there may have more information.
