Yes, you are right. Portevent Bloodworth, Sr. was the son of James Bloodworth, Sr. and Ann Portivent. He was born about 1790 in NC. The majority of the Bloodworths moved from NC to LA and owned significant acreage in Sabine Parish, LA. Much of my initial information came from Berniece Warriner's research in the NC State Archives. I have tried to build upon it. The Bloodworth family must really have had adventure in them, because they didn't stay in LA long. By the time Texas annexed to the US, they were heading down the coast and settled in Calhoun county. They lived on Matagorda Island during the 1870's before that settlement was wiped out by two very bad hurricanes.
