David:

I am descendant of Mary Eveline and have done considerable research on this branch of the Bloodworths. Indeed, her father was Portevent Bloodworth, Sr. and her mother was Margaret Elizabeth Applewhite. According to her tombstone, Eveline was born on 18 Mar 1826 (Natchitoches, LA) and died 17 Apr 1888 (Cuero, DeWitt, TX). She was married to Dr. James F. Madden on 31 Dec 1844 (Sabine Parish, LA). I have a copy of the marriage certificate.

I have found NO evidence that she had a sister named Mary Flavilla. She did give birth to a daughter in Louisiana named Flavilla E. Madden. I have also found no evidence that Dr. Madden was married to any other than Eveline. Seeing as he was born around 1825 in Rapides Parish, LA. He would have been quite young to marry, have several children, and become a widower in time to marry Eveline in 1844.

Feel free to contact me. I'd like to know what you've found. I try to document all my information, so I can give you source references for my research.

Kindest regards from a cousin,
Karen
