Alisan: We may somehow be related as my family information closely resembles yours, both in dates and names and locations. I am currently researching, but am having a problem following up because most of the family is no longer available to give information. My grandmother was Louise Marie Bloodgood (1891-1928); her father was Edward Chapin Bloodgood (born 1868 in New Jersey, died sometime around 1930. Lived in New York). Hie wife was Louisa Hayes. On the 1900 NY Census, he reports his father was born in New Jersey, mother in New York, but no manes for them.
Edward and Louisa had Louise; Loretta (1893-1965); Rose (1898-); Jane (1896-); John; Edward (1895-); Ida; Joseph: Martha; George (1899-); Catherine; and Edna (1893). With this many kids, I've no doubt some of the names are a bit mixed up. I have little documentation other than the census and some family anecdotes.
My Edward and your Albert can't be brothers, given the birthdates 1868 and 1897), but maybe my Edward could be an Uncle? Or even the father if I'm missing one of the sons of Edward? There was something in the family stories about a small grocery store as well. anyway, I think we have enough in common to discuss potentials. I'd love to hear from you. Lois Koenig
