There is a biography of Aretas Blood in a book called The National Cyclopedia of American Biography.

He was born Oct. 8 1818 the son of Nathaniel and Roxellana poctor Blood in Weatherfield
Vermont. The first american Ancestor was James Blood and Ellen that emigrated from Paddington, Nottingham co. England and settled at Concord, Mass. in 1639.
