Jackie,

No documentary evidence has come to light so far which would indicate that Richard Blood and his son James were born in Ruddington (mis-transcribed as "Puddington") in Nottinghamshire, England.

Early genealogists presumed he was born there because two of his supposed brothers John & Robert Blood sold land there after their arrival in Massachusetts in the early 1640's.
