Bloods of Groton--farthest ancestor?
Posted by: Mary Shearer Date: April 26, 1999 at 22:01:23

Does anyone know how far back the Bloods of Groton can be traced with certainty? PAF gives the parents of Richard Blood as James Blood and Ellen. However, another source differs. Dr. Claude Barlow compiled a genealogy of the descendants of Richard Blood in 1952. Dr. Barlow said, "The oft-repeated statement that he was son of James and Ellen Blood, who came to Concord about 1638, seems most improbable, in view of the fact that Richard was not mentioned in the extended controversy over the estate of James Blood."

I'm wondering what the current research on this Blood family indicates.
