Capt. Nathaniel Blood of part of Oxford that became Chl, b. 13 Dec 116 Dedham, d. Chl 21 Oct 1801 Will 4 Mar 1801, m. midway 20 Dec 1742 Ruth Hall dau Zuriel & Susannah Sheffield of Bellingham b. 1720, d. 1811 Charlton. Capt Nathaniel served in the French & Indian War. He was active in town affairs, a selectman of Charlton an on the war committees during the Revolution. Much more on Charlton and the War committees – too much to type.

Following births on Oxford Records, Susanna bp in Sturbridge, rest in Dudley.

2. Richard b. 9 Jun 1745 bp 14 Jul 1745 lived Charlton. Corp., Sgt & Leiut in Revolution, Capt in Militia. d. 10 Apr 1820 m. 26 Nov 1767 Mary Thompson dau John & Ruth.
3. Nathaniel b. 9 Apr 1747 bp 24 May 1747 d. 30 Jan 1753.
4. Elijah b. 10 Oct 1748 bp 20 Nov 1748 d. soon bef 5 Sep 1826. m. 1. Annis Ward 29 Oct 1772 dau Uriah & Sarah (Oaks) of Marlboro & Charlton b. 4 Mar 1746 d. 3 Oct 1773 childbirth 2. Eunice Sleeman dau Peter and Lydia, Spencer, MA 30 Jan 1777. b. Chl 2 Dec 1758 d. W. Fairlee 14 Nov 1811 age 53.
Elijah was the first inhabitant in the east part of West Fairlee, Orange county, VT settling about 1778 upon the brook later called Blood Brook. Revolutionary service. During last few years resided with his nephew Jacob Blood of Charlton. 11 children.
5. Rachel b. 9 Dec 1850 bp 27 Jan 1751 alive 1805, m. Charlton 16 Jun 1774, Elijah Leavens.
6. Nathaniel b. 22 Feb 1754 bp 28 Apr 1754 d. 4 Apr 1838 m. 1. Bathsheba Upton 4 May 1775 dau Jonathan d. 17 Aug 1790. 2. Polly Allen dau Joseph & Elizabeth (Warner) Allen, 26 Jan 1792 at Dudley. Nathaniel always lived in Charlton, Revolutionary Service. 14 children.
7. Joseph b. 20 Jan 1756 bp 7 Mar 1756 d. bef 10 Nov 1820,. m. Mary Johnson 27 May 1780. After her husband’s descease she removed with her family to Oxford, NH where living 1840.
8. Capt. Asa b. 19 Nov 1758 d. Orford. NH 17 May 1825 lived in Orford, NH, m. Betsey Follet b. 15 Jan 1756 d. 18 Sep 1838. Revolutionary Service. Removed to Orford before 1790.
9. Stephen b. 3 May 1762 d. 3 Jan 1840 Orford, NH, m. 11 Jan 1785 Bethiah Cole dau Samuel Jr. and Bethia (Hardy) b. Boxford, MA 27 Jun 1764 d. 27 Aug 1838 age 74 Orford. Stephen was said to be the 16th and youngest child married to Bethiah Cole also a 16th child.
