The Harris book notes that the former childhood home of Ralph Waldo Emerson (called old Manse), located in Concord Massachusetts, is frequently visited. He also states that the house was either built on property purchased from James Blood, or may actually include two rooms of Blood's old house. A son of James inherited the property. In 1770, he sold 22 acres to Ralph's father, William Emerson. Does anyone have more info on this? Is it known for sure whether any part of James Blood's original house still exists? Which son sold the property to William Emerson?
