In Reply to: Bloods of Staffordshire - one-name study by Joe Flood of 1815

My g-g-grandfather Thomas Ready, Mayor of Lichfield in 1846, had friends/associates by the name of Blood in or near Lichfield. One was John Thaines Blood, Gentleman, Fossway House, Pipe Hill. A second was James Blood, fishmonger, Tamworth St, Lichfield with whom Thomas had a joint interest in some arable and pasture land known as Clayton Hays in the parish of Whittington. I don't know if these Bloods were related.

A further Blood named Richard, possibly from Staffordshire, is associated with my family tree but I don't know of any relationship with John or James. Richard emigrated with his wife Ann (born in Shropshire) to South Australia in 1849. He died near Adelaide in 1852, age 26. His widow Ann Blood married William Ready, son of the above Thomas, in Adelaide in 1853. Maybe William knew Richard in Lichfield.
