Draft One-name BLOOD trees posted

I have now posted the draft trees for the one-name study of the English Bloods on rootsweb at http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/. There are three databases.

1.       “derbybloods” – Bloods of Derby and North Stafford and descendants
2.       “staffordbloods” – Bloods of East Stafford, Stone, Shropshire and Warwick
3.       “outerbloods” – Bloods from other counties, most notably Leicester, Lincoln and Nottingham

The trees are only rough drafts at this stage and I hope to make many improvements with the aid of other descendants. I have made them downloadable. I have made notes where I have been emboldened to impute parentage to tidy up the trees.

At the moment the trees include the IGI, the 1851 census, and a good part of the 1861 and 1841 census. They are not heavily sourced as almost everything is from the IGI, the census or FreeBMD. There is not much past 1860 so far. Nor have I yet attempted to trace emigrants.

This has involved quite a lot of work – there are about 1200 distinct records for Derby BLOODs on the IGI, about 1000 for Stafford, and maybe 700 for other counties. The trees have 2450 BLOODs in total.

As well as these pedigrees, I am keeping trees for the Irish Bloods and the Massachusetts Bloods, but so far I have only collated what is already on the internet, and have not made much value-added.
