Marilyn - I have the following comments to make on the data you posted on November 23 :- James BLOOD b. abt 1605 You give "Chelshire" as his place of birth. I think this might be "Cheshire". Can you give me the source of your data? If James was born in Cheshire it opens up the possibility that he is closely related Colonel Thomas Blood, the crown jewel thief, who married and raised a family in nearby Lancashire.(Earlier contributors to this forum have claimed he is a brother of Colonel Thomas). James BLOOD b. 1646 Frisby Lincolnshire The only Frisby I can find is in Leicestershire, which is firmly in "Blood Country" (the English Midlands). There is a Friskney about 10 miles from Boston, Lincolnshire however - could this be the place? Boston, Lincolnshire was a staging post for many of the emigrants to Massachusetts. Again, any idea where the data comes from Marilyn? I received a package of data, earlier this year, which appears to include four pages of the Roger Harris book "The Story of the Bloods" (pages 140 - 143). On the relationship of the early immigrants he writes "Much has been written concerning the relationship of the first four to come to new England. The early writers claimed James came with his four sons James Jr. Richard, Robert and John. This has since been discovered to be erroneous.............. As stated earlier in this work these four, James Sr, John, Robert and Richard are undoubtedly closely related, they may be brothers, they may be a combination of brothers and cousins or of uncles and nephews, but the exact relationship is unproven". This was written in 1960, I believe - can we solve the puzzle 40 years on?
