'cording to Savage (1:204) "[James] had perhaps brought from England all or most of these four sons: Robert, James, Richard, John (who d. unmarried 30 Oct 1692), had here Mary, b 12 Jul 1648; and he d. 17 Nov 1683."

Three of the petitioners for the plantation of Groton -- Richard, John, and Robert -- were all purportedly sons of James and Ellen Blood per Dr. Samuel Green, "Epitaphs from the Old Burying Ground in Groton, MA" (NEHGR 108:228?), which says that another brother, James, was an early proprietor.

The spouses of Robert and Mary Blood share common grandparents: Richard and Marjorie (Humphrey) Willard.
