I have James Blood bc 1597 married Ellen or Eleanor Harrison Feb 7, 1630/1 at St Peters Parish Eng. But the list of children do not match this date.
Robert Blood b 1625 m Elizabeth Willard
Richard Blood b 1617 m Isabel Wilkinson
James Blood b 1632 in 'Puddington', Notts. Eng
m Hannah Purchis
Mary Blood b 23 May 1640 in Concord Ma.
m Capt Simon Davis.
The latter two are correct, but the first two?? Did James have an eariler wife, or do they belong to another Blood (won't say it) family. Any help appreciated. My anc. is Mary.
On Capt. Thomas Blood of the Crown Jewels fame, he was 'a disbanded officer of Oliver Cromwell, stole the jewels 1671 told Charles 11 he 'found his heart checked with an awe of (his) majesty', pardoned, given a pension, jailed again, obtained bail and died peacefully 24 Aug. 1680.'
