Gail,
The Blood family tree I have compiled contains information from many sources and is therefore subject to revision in the light of fresh evidence.
There is only one John Blood in the tree so far. He was the son of Matthew Blood and Elizabeth Lucas, born at Bohersallagh Co. Clare in 1721, died 1799. His marriage to Elizabeth Fitzgerald produced a son, Charles Fitzgerald Blood. Presumably the John Frederick Blood and William Holcroft Blood you mention were younger sons.
The name Holcroft has resonance with the Blood family. Colonel Thomas Blood, the crown jewel thief, married Maria Holcroft, daughter of Lt. Colonel John Holcroft in Winwick parish, Lancashire, in 1650.
Could John Blood of Bohersallagh have married twice, the second time to Jane Studdert, or is he a different John Blood altogether?
Mike Roper
